Community Report 2018

Ampe-kenhe Ahelhe (the Arrernte translation for Children’s Ground Central Australia) published their second Community Report for Central Australia in December 2018. This document is the culmination of all the unique knowledge, hard work and ongoing passion of our First Nations staff and families. It tells the story of Ampe-kenhe Ahelhe so far, how Central Australia fits into the bigger Children’s Ground picture and answers questions like “Nthakenhe anwerne mpwareme Ampe-kenhe Ahelhe? (Why are we doing Children’s Ground?)”.

Ampe-kenhe Ahelhe staff worked on all facets of the report, from conducting interviews and writing stories to selecting images and creating the layout design. The process was made visible and accessible to all staff and families for input by regularly printing and displaying the report layouts on the collaborative Community Report wall in the meeting room of the Centre.

"Werte! We are so proud to show you our 2018 Community Report for Ampe-kenhe Ahelhe (Children's Ground) in Central Australia. This is a report written by community, for community - from the strong First Nations voices of our Governance Committee, Arrernte Educators and staff. This is our story of where are moving forwards into 2019, working together and walking together on the same track." - MK Turner, Ampe-kenhe Ahelhe Director
